About the Role

Processor 1 is responsible for ensuring products are produced according to recipes, formulas, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements, reporting to the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Set up decks and equipment for product runs and changeovers per cook sheet, ensuring safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Pre-scale ingredients accurately and efficiently according to cook sheets.
  • Monitor processing activities against the production schedule and update QC, Maintenance, and Supervisors as needed.
  • Ensure QC protocols are followed and complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Inspect equipment, initiate sanitation protocols, and maintain sterilization, sanitation, and housekeeping standards per SSOPs.
  • Ensuring all standards for sterilization, sanitation & housekeeping as per Company SSOP's are met
  • Assisting in training is required to ensure proper production SOPs. GMP's, equipment and Health & Safety Standards are met
  • Carry out timely and effective line handover between shifts, including the completion of proper documentation and accurate briefing on progress/issues
  • Participate in product trials, customer audits, and integrate plant, quality, safety, and security policies into daily operations.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, train new employees.
  • Perform tasks on time and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • All other work as assigned by duly authorized Supervisor

Requirements

  • Previous production or processing experience or equivalent required.
  • High School Diploma is preferred.
  • Forklift, Reach Truck and Electric Pallet Truck License is a definite asset.
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors as a Quality Focused, Service orientated team player
  • Solve problems independently as per standard guidelines and procedures
  • Written skills for document completion and use
  • Oral & written communication to give and understand work instructions (both written & verbal)
  • Working with others, problem solving, critical thinking, continuous learning, finding information
  • Significant use of memory
  • All jobs require sufficient physical strength and dexterity to perform the required task(s) and typically also require at a minimum: intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more with assistance may also be required.
  • Employees must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by Company policy and/or legal requirements.
  • Work outside and/or in adverse temperatures which could include extreme heat, cold, and humidity;
  • Be exposed to vibrations, chemicals used in operations, fumes and food allergens (may include soy, dairy and other allergens);
  • Be required to work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet.

  • $20.95/hour
  • Certain shifts are eligible for a shift premium of $1.00/hr or $2.00/hr
