About the Role

Provides ongoing care and assistance to residents by supporting self-care and recreational activities to ensure residents maintain a safe and quality lifestyle. Responsibilities

Assists residents with personal hygiene needs, including washing, toileting, feeding, and showering, to ensure good personal hygiene and enhance independence.
Accompanies residents to medical appointments, if applicable.
Performs light housekeeping tasks to maintain clean facilities for residents.
Implements resident-specific programs by following the goal book outline to ensure independence and life goals.
Assists residents in adhering to prescribed diets by ensuring correct portions are dispensed.
Administers medication and medical procedures, if AMAP certified, by following prescriptions and doctors' orders.
Maintains resident safety through ongoing supervision and the use of safety techniques and adaptive equipment.
Provides ongoing supervision by maintaining close physical proximity to residents to ensure safety and well-being.
Implements recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, playing tapes, setting out board games, and playing basketball, to meet residents' recreational needs.
Serves as a member of the inter-disciplinary team by attending and participating in meetings to discuss resident progress and goal achievements.
Purchases clothing, grooming, and other personal items to meet residents' daily living needs and fulfill requests.
Trains new employees by covering the training manual and demonstrating direct care skills.
Performs additional duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

Ability to understand written and oral directives/information.

Experience Level

Six (6) months experience working with DDI population preferred.

Education Level

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
