About the Role

Lead the ideation and build of next-generation value-added services across Mastercard's global core payments network, identifying customer needs and translating opportunities into scalable network-level solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the discovery and development of new value-added service ideas that extend Mastercard's core network capabilities.
  • Engage deeply with customers (issuers, acquirers, processors, fintechs) to uncover pain points, unmet needs, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Build initial product frameworks, including problem definition, hypothesis development, customer segmentation, and value proposition design.
  • Partner with technology teams to shape early solution design, assess feasibility, and define foundational system requirements.
  • Apply deep knowledge of payment networks and financial services to benchmark competitor offerings and identify white-space opportunities for differentiated services.
  • Translate market signals and customer insights into compelling product concepts, business cases, and roadmaps for executive review.
  • Collaborate with regional product and market-facing teams to validate concepts across geographies and align on prioritization.
  • Partner with commercialization, pricing, and legal teams to define go-to-market and commercialization strategy.
  • Influence senior stakeholders through executive-ready narratives, visuals, and structured analysis to secure investment and alignment.
  • Drive the early-stage innovation pipeline, including the Studio process, to shepherd ideas from concept through pilot and scale.

Requirements

  • Experienced product leader with extensive experience in payments, financial services, and FinTech.
  • Deep understanding of payment network economics, transaction processing (authorization and clearing), and the broader financial services ecosystem.
  • Strong knowledge of competitor and partner value-added services across the payments value chain.
  • Proven track record of developing new products from concept through early architecture and pilot launch.
  • Strong customer orientation with the ability to translate qualitative insights and quantitative analysis into clear product direction.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with comfort engaging executives and external clients on complex technical and commercial topics.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline and a bias for action.
  • Responsible for information security, including abiding by security policies, ensuring confidentiality and integrity of information, reporting violations, and completing mandatory security trainings.
