About the Role
Own and ship RhythmScience's agentic voice care platform, which helps patients prevent strokes and reduce heart failure decompensation by orchestrating their medical device care with clinicians and AI. This role involves being both the Product Manager and a Field Development Engineer, and is the first hire to transform the care of tens of thousands of patients.
Responsibilities
- Build agentic voice care across interactions including support calls, enrollment, adherence, check-ins, and follow-up, both inbound and outbound.
- Own core architecture calls, including patient data handling and compliance posture.
- Engage with users by shadowing device-clinic staff, care managers, and front-desk teams; riding along on real calls; and sitting with patients to understand their jobs before automating them.
- Embed in workflows to observe interactions between medications, medical devices, and patients.
- Establish a discovery cadence, conducting structured interviews with clinics, patients, and internal clinical ops to create a prioritized problem list.
- Translate messy clinical/ops workflows into crisp product requirements, including PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and explicit non-goals.
- Own the product roadmap and prioritization trade-offs, deciding and defending what ships now versus later.
- Define success metrics upfront (e.g., call containment, escalation precision/recall, latency, task success, patient/clinic satisfaction), instrument systems, run experiments, and report to leadership.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across clinical ops, compliance/legal, engineering, sales/BD, and customer success.
- Manage the vendor stack, including telephony, STT/TTS, and model providers.
- Set expectations with customers and internal leadership, communicating status, risks, and trade-offs clearly and frequently.
- Own rollout to launch clinics, gather feedback, and iterate rapidly.
Requirements
- Shipped a production LLM/voice or real-time conversational system end-to-end, including latency, turn-taking, and interruption handling.
- Possess strong hands-on engineering and product judgment, enabling the ability to spec, build, and run systems with customers.
- Demonstrate a track record of user discovery and requirements work with non-technical, domain-expert stakeholders (clinicians, ops teams), translating their world into product.
- Exhibit data-driven prioritization instincts and clear written communication skills (PRDs, decision docs).
- Comfortable operating in regulated/high-stakes environments, treating safety as a design input.
- Exhibit a bias to deploy over a bias to plan.
