About the Role

Provides tennis lessons, explaining and demonstrating principles, techniques, and methods to achieve proficiency. Observes students to detect and correct mistakes.

Responsibilities

• Develops quality tennis instruction for individuals and groups.
• Provides one-on-one private training sessions.
• Coordinates lessons with the tennis professional, pro shop, and other departments.
• Conducts lessons and clinics.
• Maintains cleanliness and neatness of the fitness equipment and facility.
• Ensures a pleasant visit for each guest and maintains effective guest relations.
• Performs special projects delegated by management.
• Stays updated on the latest developments pertinent to the department and location.

Requirements

• Strong playing background required.
• 2 years of teaching experience required.
• Current required local and/or state professional certification and/or license.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Proven instructor skills.
• Demonstrated outstanding customer service.
• Willingness to learn and perform new tennis programs.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Drive and motivation.
• Flexibility with schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
