About the Role

The Senior Project Manager will manage a portfolio of design and construction projects across NYCEDC’s Cruise portfolio, supporting flexible uses and advancing capital improvements. This role is key in developing and implementing a long-term redevelopment plan for a modernized cruise facility.

Responsibilities

  • Review facility condition reports and inspection findings; conduct site assessments and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and scope capital needs.
  • Support capital planning efforts, including long-term capital plans and annual budgets.
  • Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, including procurement, design, construction, and close-out.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects and contracts, ensuring coordination and accountability.
  • Monitor project performance, including schedule, scope, and budget; conduct site visits and proactively resolve issues.
  • Oversee project financials and funding processes, including invoice and change order review, and procurement coordination.
  • Work in partnership with Asset Management Portfolio Managers and Property Operations to ensure projects align with policy, market, and operational needs.
  • Maintain ongoing project scope, cost, and schedule controls, including project reporting.
  • Establish and maintain record-keeping systems for infrastructure asset conditions and surveys.
  • Create and deliver presentations, memos, and other materials to communicate project recommendations and findings.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams facilitating the implementation of large-scale projects and development efforts.
  • Represent NYCEDC in professional and public forums as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in architecture, engineering, urban planning, construction management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in capital project management, design and construction management, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and analytical communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including managing multiple projects through full lifecycle phases.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to identify, anticipate, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in dynamic environments.
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Willing to provide 24/7 emergency response where appropriate.
  • New York City residency is required within 180 days of hire.
