About the Role
The Field Service Technician will travel to customer sites across Canada to perform repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance on Alma Lasers equipment. This role also involves Level 2 technical troubleshooting via phone and supporting local warehouse activities.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, analyze, and troubleshoot laser systems and related medical/aesthetic devices.
- Perform corrective repairs and component replacements to restore equipment to manufacturer specifications.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation for repairs.
- Conduct functional, performance, and safety testing after repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records, repair reports, calibration documentation, and work orders.
- Provide Level 2 technical support to customers, field personnel, and internal teams.
- Troubleshoot and repair low-voltage electrical and electronic systems using diagnostic equipment.
- Adhere to scheduled service appointments and respond to various service requests.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical issues and improve customer satisfaction.
- Perform device calibrations and system verification using approved test equipment.
- Create and maintain troubleshooting guides and technical documentation.
- Inspect, test, repair, and maintain inventory and demonstration equipment.
- Perform handpiece diagnostics, refurbishment, repair, calibration, and quality inspections.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Manage service parts inventory, tools, and test equipment.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating repair findings and recommendations.
Requirements
- College diploma or other post-secondary education in electrical or electronic repair, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of Field Service experience.
- Experience with component level repair, preferred.
- Knowledgeable of ISO 13485 certification, preferred.
- Valid driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel independently throughout Canada.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
