About the Role
Safety Worxs is seeking a Project Safety Coordinator for a boiler project in downtown Austin, TX. This role leads and manages all construction safety activities from project commencement through substantial completion, ensuring compliance with standards and fostering a positive safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Administer and oversee the project’s safety program throughout the full construction lifecycle.
- Implement and manage construction safety processes, including hazard identification, mitigation, and routine field inspections.
- Conduct incident investigations and prepare documentation with preventive recommendations.
- Provide documented continuing education and practical training in Fall Protection, Scaffolds, Excavation & Trenching, Confined Space, Crane/Equipment Operations, Electrical Safety, and Incident Investigation.
- Review and approve safety method statements and procedures related to high-hazard activities.
- Coordinate emergency response planning, including First Aid/CPR/AED requirements.
- Maintain accurate safety records, compliance documentation, and training evidence.
- Serve as a liaison with project leadership for all safety matters.
- Ensure subcontractors adhere to project safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- 7+ years recent building construction safety experience.
- 5+ years in construction safety process management OR a 4-year safety degree with 3+ years of actual field safety experience.
- Experience must be building construction only.
- Documented continuing education (min. 4 hours per topic) within the last 5 years in Fall Protection, Scaffolds, Excavation, Confined Space, Crane/Equipment Operations, Electrical Safety, and Incident Investigation.
- Must possess OSHA 500 or OSHA 502.
- Current certifications (within 2 years) in Emergency First Aid, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
- Proven ability to build and maintain a proactive safety culture.
