About the Role

The Underclass Driver is responsible for safely operating non-CDL commercial vehicles to transport household goods, office furniture, and related materials for local and regional moves. This position supports CDL drivers and moving crews by ensuring timely, professional, and damage-free transportation services while complying with company policies and DOT/FMCA safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate company-owned non-CDL trucks and vans in a safe and lawful manner.
• Transport household goods, commercial freight, and storage materials between customer locations and company facilities.
• Assist with loading, unloading, packing, and securing shipments.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery of paperwork, and job documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations staff regarding schedules, delays, or issues.
• Ensure proper use of pads, straps, dollies, and protective materials.
• Provide professional customer service at all job sites.
• Follow all company safety procedures and accident reporting requirements.
• Support warehouse operations when not assigned to driving duties.
• Comply with DOT, FMC, and company regulations at all times.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license (Class D or equivalent).
• Clean driving record in accordance with company and insurance standards.
• Minimum age: 21 years (or per insurance carrier requirements).
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Prior moving, delivery, or logistics experience helpful.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle safety and load securement.
• Ability to read, write, and complete basic job documentation.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100lbswithassistance.
• Frequent bending, climbing, and standing.
• Ability to work in varied weather conditions.
• Capability to perform physically demanding labor for extended periods.
