About the Role
HSBC's Infrastructure Finance team seeks a proactive and highly skilled Associate to originate and execute financing transactions for its infrastructure client base. The role involves providing support across various financing transactions in sectors like Infrastructure, Power & Utilities, Renewables, Transportation, and Digital/Telecommunication infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of applicable sectors and products, providing coverage and execution services to HSBC’s infrastructure clients
- Originate and lead strategic deals, demonstrating quality thought leadership
- Oversee and assist in the preparation and negotiation of key financial and project-related documents, including internal documents like credit memos
- Help the creation of marketing materials such as pitch books, proposals, teaser documents, and information memoranda
- Conduct thorough industry and company-specific research
- Provide guidance to and ensure the quality of output of junior colleagues
- Coordinate and collaborate with other internal stakeholders and business units across regions within the bank
- Contribute to the execution of the group’s overall business plan
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification from a reputable university, preferably in a relevant discipline. A post-graduate degree or CFA is an advantage
- Strong deal execution experience in the global Infrastructure/Project Finance market
- Exposure to domestic and cross-border infrastructure advisory and financing transactions
- In-depth understanding of financial markets, including credit analysis, rating methodologies, and credit metrics
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with a strong commercial orientation across various debt products, including loans, bonds, and derivatives
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to digest and communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner to both internal and external stakeholders
- FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses are required. A contingency period to obtain licensing can be provided at manager's discretion
