About the Role
Relay is seeking a Lifecycle Marketing Manager to own the self-serve acquisition lifecycle, focusing on converting signups into registered customers and supporting their onboarding and activation. This role involves setting strategy, designing multi-channel customer journeys, running A/B tests, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive growth and improve customer activation.
Responsibilities
- Own the self-serve acquisition programs from first touch through nurture to registration.
- Set the strategy, segmentation, and test roadmap for the acquisition funnel.
- Support onboarding and activation programs to drive customers to first funding and first action.
- Build programs and measurement infrastructure from scratch.
- Architect and iterate multi-channel journeys across email, push, SMS, and in-app.
- Focus on repeatable infrastructure over one-off campaigns.
- Run A/B tests with clean attribution tied to acquisition funnel metrics.
- Partner with Analytics to define baselines, size opportunities, surface insights, and own reporting.
- Collaborate with Product, Demand Gen, PMM, Data, Design, and Compliance to shape quarterly priorities and align on GTM plans.
- Use AI to speed up analysis, copy development, and experimentation.
- Maintain clear documentation of lifecycle programs, experiment specs, and performance logs.
- Raise the bar on QA and craft.
Requirements
- 4-6 years of experience in lifecycle marketing, CRM, or growth marketing, ideally with a self-serve growth, onboarding, or activation focus.
- Track record of building nurture and onboarding programs that move funnel metrics like registration, funding, or activation.
- Strong expertise in customer segmentation, behavioural analytics, and journey design across channels.
- Proficient in marketing-automation platforms and hands-on experience building in HubSpot, or ability to ramp up quickly.
- Comfortable in the data layer: able to pull and reason about funnel data, write clear data requirements, and self-serve on validation.
- Strong test-design instincts: ability to hold a clean control, size a cohort, and avoid attribution traps.
- Ability to write strong copy, give creative direction, and hold quality from brief to launch.
- Self-directed: able to take an ambiguous goal, scope it, and ship.
- Experience marketing financial technology products to SMB customers is a plus.
- Familiarity with in-app messaging tools (Chameleon or similar) is a plus.
- Technical proficiency in SQL, HTML, and marketing-automation languages is a plus.
- Comfort with Segment or a reverse-ETL tool like Hightouch is a plus.
- Experience using AI tools for productivity or analysis is a plus.
- Experience migrating or consolidating across marketing platforms is a plus.
- Must be able to pass a background check and employment verification.
