About the Role
The French Department at Barnard College seeks a part-time instructor to teach undergraduate French courses during the 2026-2027 academic year.
Responsibilities
- Teach FREN BC1001 Elementary French I in Fall 2026.
- Teach FREN BC1203 Intermediate French I in Fall 2026.
- Teach FREN BC1002 Elementary French II in Spring 2027.
- Determine exact instructional assignments and other academic responsibilities as directed by the Chair or Director.
Requirements
- Terminal degree in a related discipline, with all requirements for the degree completed by the time of hiring offer.
- Submit a complete application via Workday.
- Upload a CV.
- Upload a statement of interest including teaching philosophy, most relevant prior teaching experience, and advanced pedagogical or relevant training.
- Identify three references for finalists, including one with direct knowledge of teaching capabilities.
