About the Role
The Executive Finance Director will lead global Long-Range Planning (LRP), decision support, and strategic projects, acting as a key strategic partner to the CFO. This role requires a commercially astute, analytical leader capable of translating high-level corporate ambition into robust financial models and driving strategic projects within a complex, multi-brand, matrix-structured environment.
Responsibilities
- Ownership of the Global LRP process: Design, orchestrate, and execute the annual 5-year global financial planning process across all brands and geographic markets.
- Strategic Translation of Business Ideas into Financial Forecasts: Convert qualitative brand and market strategies into quantitative, accurate, and fully integrated financial forecasts (P&L & Cash Flow).
- Scenario Modeling: Build sensitivity analyses and stress-test business concepts.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and finance teams, providing data-backed recommendations.
- Translate complex financial data into compelling narrative presentations for executive and board-level consumption.
- Challenge assumptions made by commercial and brand leaders, ensuring strategic plans are both ambitious and financially viable.
- Support the Business Development team, acting as the financial architect for critical, non-standard corporate initiatives (e.g., market entry/exit, new business initiatives, brand portfolio optimization, M&A evaluation).
- Support company valuations and work closely with Advance on any support needed.
- Financial support to Transformation Project Management Office: Serve as the strategic financial architect and governance anchor, translating operational changes into measurable financial outcomes.
- Evaluate the financial implications, risk profiles, and ROI of proposed initiatives, ensuring robust business cases.
- Establish and oversee rigorous financial tracking frameworks and KPIs to monitor spend, manage budget variances, and validate cost savings or value creation.
- Provide CFO with financial visibility to ensure transformation projects drive sustainable profitability.
- Commercial finance co-pilot to the Business Development team, driving financial strategy for growth initiatives, brand licensing, and strategic partnerships.
- Review and lead financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessment for monetization strategies.
- Liaise with the financial controlling team to ensure accurate evaluation of deal implications and highlighted risks.
- Support post-deal financial tracking and performance analysis with the business development team.
Requirements
- Ideally 10+ years experience in FP&A or strategic finance.
- Experience in media or a similar industry within an international company.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with senior finance professionals, partnering with the business, and being a ‘voice in the room’.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, comfortable with handling lots of data and delivering quality outputs with minimal review.
- Proven ability to shift effortlessly from high-level strategic thinking to granular, hands-on financial modeling.
- Ability to lead through influence rather than formal authority.
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across functions and levels.
- Builds effective relationships across diverse cultures, languages, working styles, and functions.
- Able to manage business change in a rapidly changing environment.
- Able to work in a cross-functional matrix organisation.
- Experience in managing work deliverables across multiple time-zones.
- Works well under pressure, prioritises effectively and takes ownership of deliverables.
- Self-motivated, flexible & a great team player, adaptable to pitch in to wider demands of the team.
- Proficient user of G-suite.
- Prior exposure to Oracle EPM Advanced is an advantage.
