About the Role
As Senior Analyst, Business Development – Americas, you will play a critical role within the Business Development team in North America in the pursuit of growth opportunities across gas-fired generation, renewables and battery storage. This role will bring deeper analytical rigor, increased ownership of customer/counterparty engagement, and increase bandwidth in the Business Development team.
Responsibilities
- Manage acquisition processes – coordinating due diligence meetings, support collection of key inputs and support deal structuring and execution
- Manage RFP responses end‑to‑end—coordinating pricing, strategy, technical input, and bid documentation with development and financial modeling teams.
- Oversight and peer review of financial and market models supporting pricing, hedge structures, risk evaluation, capacity/REC valuation, and exposure analysis for both new builds and operating assets.
- Provide senior‑level analytics for long‑term plan cycles, budget impacts, and commercial assumptions that inform Investment Committee materials.
- Monitor market fundamentals, competitor activity, regulatory developments, and commodity trends to inform strategic positioning across Northland’s portfolio.
- Partner with across the business to ensure all projects have a clear, aligned commercialization pathway that reflects local market design and buyer demand
- Support internal governance processes—including IC memos, commercial checkpoints, and energy marketing approvals—ensuring clear recommendations and commercial risk narratives.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in North American power industry
- Strong knowledge of Canadian electricity market regulations and supply/demand fundamentals
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power Point
- Excellent communication skills, including experience preparing and delivering commercial presentations to senior leaders or external counterparties.
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related field required; Master’s degree or CFA/FRM is considered an asset.

- $96,800.00 - $121,000.00
