About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Strategic Operations, this role involves leading and managing a team to oversee the planning, production, and evaluation of commercial traffic logs. It combines strategic long-term planning with real-time management, ensuring operational efficiency, fostering collaboration, and guiding teams through process improvements and change.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies to maintain excellent partnerships with the sales department and clients.
  • Establish and coordinate procedures to streamline scheduling, broadcasting, and programming grid distribution.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend technological optimizations for revenue and broadcast efficiency.
  • Anticipate operational challenges, mobilize support services, and facilitate innovative solutions.
  • Manage emergencies calmly during last-minute programming changes.
  • Orchestrate the success of major events such as New Year’s Eve specials, international sporting events, and breaking news programming.

Requirements

  • Solid experience managing personnel in a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to mobilize staff, clarify expectations, and maintain constructive labor relations.
  • Ability to guide and support teams through operational process changes.
  • Excellent stress and crisis management skills.
  • Agility to react quickly during special programming.
  • Capacity to strategically plan resources during peak periods in a fast-paced media environment.
  • University degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of the advertising and marketing industry within the broadcasting sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of practices, procedures, and systems related to scheduling, production, programming grids, sales, and communications.
  • Proficiency in traffic scheduling systems (e.g., On Air).
  • Deep understanding of distribution models, facility operations, and Sales and Marketing guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of technical broadcasting systems and procedures.
  • Knowledge of CRTC regulations and their application to French Services and affiliates.
  • Availability to work on-site or on-call, occasionally outside of regular business hours, including weekends.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is essential.
  • Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
  • Candidates who advance will be asked to complete a background check, including a mandatory Criminal record check.
