Responsibilities
- Keep seafood area well stocked and appealing.
- Greet customers, make suggestions, and provide information on seafood preparation.
- Take orders for future delivery and assist with special requests.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and courteously.
- Set up displays and rotate product as needed.
- Ensure seafood is fresh, saleable, and properly priced with signage.
- Handle spoiled, damaged, or near-expiration product according to company procedures.
- Remove non-saleable product to ensure quality.
- Weigh and wrap merchandise, applying price and weight stickers.
- Maintain logs to track freshness and quality.
- Adhere to food and personal safety codes.
- Maintain general sanitation of the department, including cleaning schedules and guidelines.
- Dispose of trash properly.
- Assist manager with inventory control and ordering.
- Minimize losses by returning products to refrigeration.
- Report shortages or overages to the manager.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries (training provided).
- Assist with baling cardboard or other related duties (training provided).
- Cooperate with co-workers and superiors to ensure smooth department and store function.
- Continuously improve job performance.
- Utilize all company-provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE).
- Assist in other departments as needed.
