About the Role
BMO’s Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is hiring an Analyst to join its Insurance Investment Banking team in New York. You will provide deep insurance industry sector expertise, innovative thinking, and world-class execution across a full suite of products to clients through an integrated Capital Markets platform using a sector ecosystem approach. You will collaborate to generate creative, client-focused solutions for prospective and current clients.
Responsibilities
- Participate in deal teams to develop, present, and win mandates for new opportunities.
- Create pitch books for clients regarding financial solutions and participate in client presentations.
- Monitor clients, client industries, and regulatory agencies for potential changes impacting client portfolios and business needs.
- Review and continually monitor the performance of existing accounts and client relationships.
- Conduct due diligence, including client visits, business model analysis, and comprehensive review of industry trends and related regulations.
- Support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Generate updated financial models/analyses as dictated by business needs and industry requirements.
- Create financial models to analyze client portfolios and anticipate client needs.
- Apply appropriate technical concepts and complete/lead consistent and reliable technical and financial reports/analyses to support client deliverables.
- Understand the complexity of transactions and related risks (e.g., credit, market, operational, legal/compliance).
- Deliver financial modeling to support strategic recommendations to clients.
- Balance the Bank's risk appetite with client needs when making recommendations/proposals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, with an outstanding record of academic achievement.
- Interest or experience in FIG is desired.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience in investment banking is preferred.
- Exceptional team player with a strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
- Deep, sophisticated understanding of accounting and finance.
- Excellent mathematical, written/verbal communication, and computer skills.
- Sound and professional judgment.
- SIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment.
