About the Role

A janitor is responsible for cleaning all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and collecting and removing garbage. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs, and other surfaces.
• Perform stripping and waxing, steam cleaning carpets, and cleaning windows upon request.
• Wash windowsills and interior glass surfaces.
• Clean and spot clean interior walls daily.
• Clean bathrooms daily, including restocking supplies and damp wiping surfaces.
• Assist the supervisor with additional tasks as needed.
• Monitor and report potential defects such as clogged urinals and burnt-out lights.
• Collect and dispose of building trash daily in designated areas.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers.
• Perform high dusting, wall washing, operate compactors, lift up to 50lbs, use heavy-duty machines, and change garbage.

Requirements

• Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
• Capacity to function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using cleaning tools and equipment.
• Must have own transportation.
• Requires attention to detail, pride in service delivery, organization, and high energy levels.
• Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check.
