Responsibilities

• Provides advanced clinical care, patient education, and support throughout the continuum of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.
• Delivers comprehensive preoperative and postoperative care with a focus on safety, quality outcomes, and exceptional patient experience.
• Serves as both a clinical provider and a key liaison between patients, staff, and leadership.
• Supports the growth and development of Strive Surgical’s aesthetic service line, with a specialized focus on aesthetics and injectables.
• Conducts pre-operative evaluations and assessments for plastics surgery candidates.
• Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
• Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follow up.
• Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.
• Interprets laboratory and test results.
• Provides comprehensive education and counseling to patients regarding surgical options, pre-operative preparation, and post-operative care.
• Educates patients on medication and post-operative instructions.
• Collaborates with the surgical team to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Confers with attending physicians, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
• Applies advanced knowledge of skincare and esthetic techniques.
• Performs post-operative follow-up visits and monitors patients' progress.
• Notes discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals on patient charts.
• Informs patients of necessary post-discharge care instructions.
• Assists in the management of complications and provides support to patients.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examination, and documentation in the EMR.
• Assists in preoperative consultations—educating patients about surgical options, expectations, risks, and postoperative recovery.
• Manages postoperative care, including wound assessments, dressing changes, drain management, and pain control.
• Prescribes medications and orders diagnostic tests.
• Evaluates and manages postoperative complications under the guidance of the attending surgeon.
• Provides patient education on pre- and postoperative care, scar management, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborates with surgeons, medical assistants, RNs, and front office staff to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Maintains detailed and accurate clinical documentation.
• Participates in quality assurance initiatives, patient safety programs, and workflow improvement efforts.
• Serves as a clinical resource for staff and assists with training on postoperative protocols and patient communication.
• Supports the operational leader in maintaining high standards of professionalism, respect, and teamwork.
• Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of pre-operative and post-operative experience, including wound care, required.
• Minimum of 1 year injectable experience.

Skills

• Aesthetics and injectables, including neuromodulators (e.g., Botox, Dysport) and dermal fillers
• Skincare and esthetic techniques
• EHR/Billing, with a preference for candidates with experience in AdvancedMD

Experience Level

• Minimum of 3 years of pre-operative and post-operative experience, including wound care
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in plastic surgery or a related field is preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical practice as an Esthetician prior to or in addition to PA experience is preferred
• Minimum of 1 year injectable experience

Education Level

• Bachelor's Degree, required
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant – ARC-PA), required
• Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required
• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice, required
• Current BLS certification, required
