About the Role

The Strategic Evidence Officer plays a vital role in the Strategic Evidence team by critiquing, synthesising, and generating evidence, data, and insights. This role translates complex information into actionable communications to drive improvements in cancer policy and practice across early diagnosis, treatment, outcomes, inequalities, and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Build a strong understanding of the cancer evidence base using scientific literature, data, and insights.
  • Monitor, review, and critically appraise research evidence, including peer-reviewed and grey literature.
  • Analyse and synthesise complex findings into clear, accessible reports and outputs.
  • Support senior colleagues in identifying key insights and translating evidence into strategy, policy, and practice.
  • Track ongoing and emerging research while working with internal teams and external experts.
  • Share evidence and insights with diverse internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate across the charity to develop evidence-based content and resources.
  • Contribute to projects and programmes across the directorate.
  • Act as an ambassador for the charity and represent work externally.

Requirements

  • Background in a relevant field such as public health, life sciences, or epidemiology.
  • Experience working in science, health, or policy environments.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Stratford, London
  • Office-based with high flexibility (1-2 days per week in the office)

Salary/Compensations

  • £36,000-£41,500
