About the Role
This role is part of the Business Unit Marketing Team, acting as a strategic consultant and bridge between practice group leadership and the broader Marketing & Client Development organization. The team translates commercial objectives and competitive insight into marketing and client development plans, offering tailored strategic and tactical support.
Responsibilities
- Direct the narrative strategy and submission process for legal directories and rankings.
- Lead the research and documentation of market perceptions and competitor activities.
- Define content requirements and objectives for practice-led programs.
- Liaise with the Pursuits and Proposals team on strategy and messaging for complex RFP responses and pitches.
- Oversee the development of practice-specific marketing and sales materials.
- Evaluate industry sponsorship opportunities for strategic fit and provide recommendations.
- Coordinate with Client Development and enabling teams to convert engagement from events and sponsorships into pipeline opportunities.
- Partner with Content and Brand enablers to ensure practice-specific thought leadership is leveraged.
- Serve as direct supervisor and mentor to direct reports.
- Provide day-to-day supervision of direct reports, ensure compliance with work hours and policies.
- Manage staffing coverage, review and process time logs/time off requests.
- Support business professional development and continued educational opportunities.
- Participate in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, termination and other employee lifecycle events.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications after orientation.
- Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required.
- Ability to travel, as required.
- 7+ years applicable experience in marketing or business development.
- 2+ years of exempt/management experience in relevant roles.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate escalating ownership and mastery of assigned area.
- Prior professional services industry experience and/or B2B marketing experience.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Supervisory experience (preferred).
- Prior legal industry experience (preferred).
