About the Role
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and disinfected workplace environment.
Responsibilities
- Clean building interiors including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, and walls.
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, stairs, and locker rooms.
- Remove stains from chairs and upholstered furniture.
- Dust furniture, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and moldings.
- Empty and clean trash cans and ashtrays.
- Disinfect high-touch items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
- Clean and maintain restrooms and replenish supplies.
- Wash and clean windows and mirrors.
- Empty trash and recycling containers into disposal areas.
- Clear trash and snow from sidewalks as needed.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and request materials from supervisors.
- Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions or maintenance requirements.
- Maintain cleaning logs for inspected and cleaned areas.
- Follow all safety and precaution protocols.
- Close doors at the end of the night shift.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and management direction.
