About the Role
The Strategic Evidence Officer plays an integral role in the Health Policy and Evidence department by placing evidence at the heart of the charity’s work. You will critique, synthesise, and generate evidence, data, and insights to shape cancer policy and practice across early diagnosis, treatment, outcomes, inequalities, and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Build a strong understanding of the cancer evidence base using scientific literature, data, and insights.
- Monitor, review, and critically appraise research evidence, including peer-reviewed and grey literature.
- Analyse and synthesise complex findings into clear, accessible reports and outputs.
- Support senior colleagues to identify key insights and translate evidence into strategy, policy, and practice.
- Track ongoing and emerging research while working with internal teams and external experts.
- Share evidence and insights with a range of internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with teams across the charity to develop evidence-based content and resources.
- Contribute to projects and programmes across the directorate.
- Act as an ambassador for the charity and represent work externally.
Requirements
- Background in a relevant field such as public health, life sciences, or epidemiology.
- Experience working in science, health, or policy environments.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
- Minimum age of 18.
