About the Role

Chewy is seeking early career Software Engineers to join the Partner Fulfillment Platform team. This role involves building cloud-native applications, event-driven integrations, and APIs to connect internal systems with external partners, directly impacting Chewy's Dropship and Marketplace businesses.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-native applications and services.
• Build APIs, event-driven integrations, and distributed systems.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools for design, implementation, testing, and debugging.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning.
• Learn modern software architecture and cloud technologies while contributing to production systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• 1–2 years of experience developing software using Java.
• Experience building applications on AWS or another major cloud platform.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows.
• Curiosity about AI-assisted software development and eagerness to incorporate AI tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused engineering environment.
