About the Role
Lead our Data Delivery Guild, responsible for reliably extracting, validating, and delivering data to clients and downstream systems in the correct format. This is a contributing manager role, combining people leadership with hands-on technical work, staying close to the code and delivery pipelines to unblock the team and make sound technical decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers responsible for data delivery and supporting systems.
- Balance hands-on IC contribution with management duties, staying technical.
- Drive execution against the guild's backlog and priorities, proactively identifying issues and improving processes.
- Help shape the guild's approach to agent-augmented development for extract logic and delivery integrations.
- Own clear, proactive communication with the team, engineering peers, Product, and stakeholders.
- Keep a backlog spanning concurrent integrations and delivery channels organized and visible.
- Ensure engineers are accountable for the correctness of data delivered to clients.
- Quickly get up to speed on the team's work and build trust with engineers.
Requirements
- Strong initiative and sense of ownership; bias for action.
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI-assisted development and advocacy for its adoption.
- Real curiosity and drive to keep learning; bring new ideas to team process and tooling.
- 3+ years in a leadership capacity (technical/team lead or engineering management) with experience guiding engineers.
- Excited about coaching and mentoring engineers, invested in their growth.
- Excellent communication skills to represent the guild clearly.
- Well-organized and methodical; able to manage a busy backlog and multi-integration workload.
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, contributing-manager capacity, willing to write code and debug.
- Experience with data integration/delivery patterns (APIs, file-transfer protocols, scheduled exports, third-party system integrations) is a strong plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience integrating with external enterprise or financial software systems (preferred).
- Background in reliability-focused or delivery/integration-heavy engineering roles (preferred).
- Hands-on technical experience in large, enterprise-scale monolithic codebases (preferred).
- Working proficiency in PHP and Vue (preferred).
