About the Role

WELL Health Diagnostic Centres is seeking Medical Radiation Technologists to administer diagnostic x-ray procedures and examinations or perform radiation detection through gamma cameras and scanners. The role involves maintaining company standards, ensuring patient comfort, preparing reports, and demonstrating knowledge of company procedures. Technologists are expected to pursue personal development through training and perform additional duties as assigned, including working various shifts.

Responsibilities

Administer diagnostic x-ray procedures and examinations.
Perform radiation detection through gamma cameras, scanners, scintillation counters, tomodensitometers and ionization chambers, to acquire data for use by nuclear medicine physicians in the diagnosis of disease.
Maintain all company standards including quality of work and results, test procedure and methodology, turn-around time, and confidentiality of test results.
Assist and/or provide training as required.
Ensure patient comfort and confidence in the competence and professionalism of the centre and its staff.
Prepare reports for information.
Answer technical questions.
Carry out any necessary information.
Demonstrate knowledge on company procedures and standards, including procedures relating to the performance and documentation of examinations, booking system reporting procedures, turn-around time, equipment, and methods used in other company centers, and the amount of training required to attain familiarity.
Ensure personal development through training courses and/or training appropriately to upgrade technical skills, abilities and knowledge.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.
Ability to work in various shifts.

Requirements

College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
Work Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
Current and valid Certificate of Registration with the Association of Medical Radiation Technologists of the relevant province.
Knowledge and proficiency in general nuclear medicine procedures.
Maintain current CPR and First Aid certificate.
Maintain competence in position by attending staff meetings.
Strong organizational and interpersonal awareness & skills.
Good command of the English language.
Excellent communication skills.
