About the Role
The Regional Director is accountable for operations, financial management, and meeting service delivery obligations within a specified geographical region. This role involves coaching and training the team on regulatory and client requirements, contributing to strategic plans, and people leadership.
Responsibilities
- Follow and apply all Health and Safety and Emergency Response requirements to ensure safety.
- Work collaboratively with Health Safety and Environment Teams to emphasize Safety Culture.
- Ensure all internal and external health, safety, environment, and security requirements are met.
- Ensure the safe delivery of all work performed.
- Continuously engage clients to understand needs and recommend additional services.
- Provide input for strategic account expansion plans and execution.
- Recommend additional pull-through services.
- Participate in and contribute to quarterly business reviews.
- Contribute to contract renewal and business development activities.
- Contribute to account governance.
- Adhere to Contract Specific MSA (Master Service Agreement).
- Manage the BGIS ECE Program for the specific client group.
- Be responsible for results and action plans related to the Likely to Recommend Survey.
- Achieve client satisfaction objectives for the assigned region(s).
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and manage client expectations.
- Act as the focal point of escalation for facilities-related issues within assigned region(s).
- Assume financial responsibility for facility operations, including budget management.
- Develop budgets (O&M, Transaction, capital projects and rent) in partnership with finance.
- Perform monthly budget analysis and re-forecast allocations using financial reports.
- Meet annual targets as per contractual performance and client financial targets/indicators.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and develop strategies to maximize financial resources.
- Track and report on budget positive or negative trends performance regularly.
- Participate in, provide recommendations for, and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
- Manage operations for the portfolio of facilities within the assigned region(s).
- Lead operations and maintenance activities and program execution for a portfolio of facilities.
- Oversee the completion and submission of capital plans.
- Create and implement short to mid-term plans for the assigned region(s).
- Provide input into strategic plans.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize facilities and create value for the client.
- Ensure all work is completed as outlined in the MSA in collaboration with the Central Work Order Management Team.
- Monitor work order progress and ensure tasks are completed within established timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders and associated costs with Account Governance Teams.
- Streamline and manage work order processes to optimize efficiency.
- Prioritize and assign work orders based on urgency and impact.
- Meet all service obligations for the assigned region(s).
- Oversee the delivery of all service obligations.
- Meet established metrics/key performance indicators and lead action plans to remediate gaps.
- Ensure compliance with all legislated, corporate, and industry-related requirements.
- Ensure emergency preparedness, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans are developed and stakeholders are trained.
- Oversee and engage in Emergency Management.
- Ensure all regulatory compliance requirements have been met and documentation is maintained.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies related to environmental, building code, and issues.
- Ensure on-time, on-budget, and quality delivery of facility management projects.
- Collaborate to identify project opportunities and priorities, and develop/implement projects.
- Oversee the development and execution of project plans.
- Follow BGIS Vendor Performance and Relationship Management Program protocols with support from leadership.
- Collaborate to source and qualify vendors, and procure goods and services.
- Contribute to efficiency gains through identifying and implementing best practices, refining processes, and leveraging self-perform.
- Implement related enhancements for the assigned region(s).
- Manage employee-oriented activities including engagement, development, performance management, hiring, and retention.
- Manage Employee Satisfaction Scores and employee recognition.
- Provide day-to-day support and team oversight/management.
- Collaborate with BGIS Self Perform Teams to maximize efficiency and customer service.
- Leverage technology such as work order systems, vendor monitoring tools, BAS, and CMMS scheduling tools.
- Mentor staff in vendor management and effective use of technology.
- Provide guidance on effective use of technology for financial management and career progression.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Community college diploma preferably in business administration.
- More than 10 years of facility management work experience.
- Highly skilled at account management.
- Highly skilled at facility operations management.
- Highly skilled at client relationship management with demonstrated ability in building and managing relationships with client representatives at the senior management level.
- Highly skilled at managing service delivery and meeting service delivery obligations.
- Skilled at managing budgets.
- Fully developed communication, influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
- High degree of client service orientation and sense of urgency.
- Highly skilled at leading and engaging a team of individuals.
- Skilled at vendor management.
- Highly skilled at emergency management, emergency preparedness, and business continuity planning and execution.
