About the Role
The Construction Manager (CM) will oversee the refurbishment of the Fulton-Gibbs complex at the U.S. Merchant Marines Academy, ensuring the existing structure meets operational capabilities for the next seven to ten years. This involves managing projects related to roof replacement, asbestos abatement, flooring installation, lighting upgrades, and more.
Responsibilities
- Host weekly project progress meetings with MARAD and primary tenant group heads.
- Prepare and distribute agendas for contractor-hosted project meetings.
- Provide meeting minutes within three calendar days, identifying action items and responsible parties.
- Ensure all work is consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
- Consult with the State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) for alterations affecting historic property.
Requirements
- Six years of construction management (CM) experience on projects valued at $10 million or greater.
- Strong oral and communication skills (speak, read, and write fluent English).
- Experience interacting with senior leaders within an organization.
- Proficiency in strategic thinking, multi-tasking, conflict management, time management, planning, and executing to the defined plan.
- Prior hands-on experience creating monthly dashboards and reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Prior Federal government experience is a plus.
- Historic preservation experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
