About the Role

This role involves leading multi-person partnership teams to manage business matters for key global partners, including strategy, media planning, IP usage, and performance measurement across various leagues. The position requires serving as a senior contact to drive strategy, resolve issues, and identify opportunities for incremental revenue and global commercial growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-person partnership teams responsible for managing all business matters for key global partners, from activation strategy and media planning to use of IP/creative approvals and partnership measurement across NBA, WNBA, and USA Basketball.
  • Serve as senior partner contact to drive overall strategy, navigate partnership issues, and troubleshoot solutions.
  • Identify opportunities and develop proposals that align with partner brand objectives and drive incremental revenue to achieve financial goals across multiple league platforms and properties.
  • Support global commercial growth by identifying international expansion opportunities for current partners via upsells and renewals.
  • Develop strategic sales, business, and marketing plans for each partner.
  • Demonstrate expertise in contractual elements, league and partner business goals, target audiences, marketing strategy, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Build effective working relationships and gain consensus with internal constituents, partner contacts, and agencies.
  • Oversee partner budgets, including leading the annual budget planning process, utilizing financial reporting and pipeline management systems.
  • Conduct meetings and present information with executive presence to influence key decisions.
  • Utilize qualitative and quantitative research to highlight the benefits of associating with the NBA.

Requirements

  • Track record of successfully managing client relations at a senior level.
  • Strong relationship management skills, both internally and externally, with the ability to adapt to various personalities and working styles.
  • Strategic thinker capable of executing current strategy and identifying areas for optimization and opportunity.
  • Strong understanding of sports and entertainment sponsorship, including promotions, events, media, and contracts.
