About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Infrastructure Automation and DevSecOps team. This role focuses on developing software and systems for developer self-service using Architecture-as-Code (AaC) and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). The goal is to modernize and transform infrastructure fulfillment, provisioning, and configuration across the firm, improving the supportability and operability of Wells Fargo's digital products and services.

Responsibilities

Lead complex technology initiatives with broad impact.
Participate in developing standards and best practices for engineering large-scale technology solutions.
Design, code, test, debug, and document projects and programs.
Analyze complex technology solutions for business objectives, enterprise environment, and technical challenges.
Make decisions on engineering standards and best practices, influencing technology teams.
Collaborate with technical experts and industry groups to resolve complex issues.
Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor.
Design, develop, deploy, and maintain a new cloud management platform.
Establish standards and patterns for Golang software development.
Create applications and services for efficiency and cost savings.
Integrate with cloud service providers like Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
Collaborate and influence professionals at all levels.
Contribute individually and lead teams in delivering software development tasks.
Expand products through cross-training, knowledge transfer, and documentation.
Provide user-specific application examples to the development community.

Requirements

7+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent.
7+ years of Software Development experience with architecting, designing, and developing frontend and backend applications using modern programming languages (e.g. Java, C#, JavaScript).
7+ years of experience developing software utilizing traditional relational databases or non-relational databases.
5+ years of experience developing software utilizing cloud web services.
Leadership experience.
5+ years of experience working in an agile environment.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas.
Knowledge and understanding of application and web security.
Knowledge and understanding of technology performance: analysis, automated testing, and tuning for applications.
Experience developing applications using Golang.
Knowledge of one or more major Cloud Services Providers (CSPs) such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and their primary web service offerings.
Experience using Temporal and/or other similar workflow/FaaS style application frameworks and systems.
Experience developing foundational software for agentic AI.
Experience developing software utilizing modern AI language models within the software development lifecycle.
