Responsibilities

  • Assist with all stages of the blood collection process, including transporting and setting up equipment at community collection sites.
  • Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors.
  • Follow all safety procedures during blood collection.
  • Connect with donors, listen to their stories, and explain the impact of their donation.
  • Collaborate with teammates to ensure a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for donors.
  • Maintain attention to detail to meet goals and regulatory requirements for blood collection.
  • Drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites.
  • Work as a team to set up and tear down equipment for mobile blood drives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Must pass applicable DOT physical and related requirements and be able to possess or obtain a medical certification of at least one-year duration.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Adaptability to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
  • Minimum height of 60 inches may be required to safely operate Red Cross vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Salary/Compensations

  • Starting rate $20.00/hour
  • Pay may increase depending on experience
