About the Role
Supervises the field construction of a project, including its organization, planning, and scheduling, to ensure completion on time, within budget, and to the specified quality.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison with owners, architects, and engineers for day-to-day construction activities.
- Develop and implement project work schedules, identifying the critical path and expediting critical materials and equipment.
- Lead, supervise, and develop field staff, including performance appraisal input.
- Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.
- Develop and manage the site safety program, ensuring subcontractor compliance with standards and regulations.
- Manage and make decisions regarding scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and staffing.
- Oversee work among all trades to promote and coordinate project operations, resolving local area problems.
- Manage labor relations with subcontractors and field staff.
- Implement and oversee mock-ups and associated testing, review, and approval.
- Ensure necessary permits and insurance are current and act as liaison to inspection agencies.
- Perform as Stormwater Compliance Coordinator (SCC).
- Manage the project budget for General Conditions and General Requirements.
- Manage the billing process, including Work-In-Place (WIP), monthly estimates, payrolls, invoices, and subcontractor payments.
- Ensure work is installed in compliance with approved contract documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of four years' related training and at least eight years of building construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of general and subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, construction means, methods, and materials.
- Understanding of line and grade and survey methods.
- Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures.
- Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Ability to implement leading-edge technologies such as Building Information Models (BIM) and Lean.
- Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of accounting and cost control procedures.
