About the Role

Professionally serve guests by assisting with food delivery, preparing items for food preparation, replenishing supplies for the culinary team, and providing information about available culinary and beverage selections. Accurately present and serve selected items, ensure guest satisfaction, and communicate effectively with team members and management to prevent and resolve issues. Assist in the maintenance of restaurant and kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Gain insights into guest dining preferences through verbal and nonverbal cues.
  • Be respectful and courteous to all colleagues and guests.
  • Maintain the ambiance and service standards of the hotel throughout the dining experience.
  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
  • Prepare room for dining by preparing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, polishing glassware, and polishing utensils.
  • Support servers in satisfying guest needs by taking direction and helping to serve all items.
  • Know and be able to speak eloquently about the hotel, restaurant, food and beverage offerings, wine, beer, and cocktail selections.
  • Verify outgoing food orders match the orders on tickets.
  • Effectively communicate between FOH and BOH operations throughout the entire shift.
  • Proper handling of various payment options.
  • Successfully resolve any guest issues and complaints in a calm manner and communicate all concerns to management.
  • Refill guest water as needed.
  • Clear tables as guests finish each course and after completion of the meal.

Requirements

  • Must be able to walk, stand and exert well-placed mobility.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • All colleagues must maintain a neat, and well-groomed appearance.
  • Employees may be required to work varying schedules, including holidays and weekends, to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
