About the Role
Longevita Medical is seeking a Medical Receptionist to provide a welcoming experience to patients, prospective patients, and visitors. This dynamic individual will hold a key role in a fast-paced, prominent organization, maintaining strict confidentiality and optimizing appointment efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and visitors in person or over the phone with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area and waiting room.
- Register new patients and update existing patient demographics using EMR, ensuring data accuracy.
- Facilitate patient flow by notifying providers of arrivals, communicating delays, and informing patients and clinical staff.
- Respond courteously to inquiries from patients, prospective patients, and visitors.
- Protect patient confidentiality by safeguarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Collect payments for co-pays, insurance, and procedures.
- Run daily financial batch reports.
- Reconcile superbills twice daily and run 'No Show reports' for the clinical team.
- Schedule appointments of all types, including consultations, minor procedures, injections, and follow-ups.
- Adhere to acceptable templates for each provider.
- Confirm client appointments for Physicians and Nurses.
- Reschedule appointments as necessary, using sound judgment regarding timeliness and templates.
- Update the schedule throughout the day as changes occur and inform clinic staff if needed.
- Effectively communicate practice offerings, services, healthcare professionals, and fees in response to patient inquiries.
- Screen calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
- Handle special assignments and word processing as required.
- Participate in evening seminars and other marketing activities.
Requirements
- Associates Degree is preferred; High School Diploma is required.
- Excellent phone and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional computer skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to multitask.
- Organized and efficient.
- Able to handle a fast-paced, changing environment.
