About the Role
The FCA regulates financial services firms in the UK to ensure fair, thriving, and effective financial markets, protecting consumers, driving economic growth, and shaping the future of UK finance services. This role sits within the Specialist Intelligence Department, contributing to the detection of threats and collaboration to prevent serious financial harm.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with partners and stakeholders across the Serious and Organised crime landscape.
- Monitor, triage, and process requests into the SIU inbox.
- Proactively develop all-source intelligence to identify threats in the UK financial services sector.
- Manage the delivery of intelligence to internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop further intelligence leads generated by other parts of the Specialist Intelligence Department and the FCA.
- Research, prepare, and disseminate intelligence products, handling sensitive intelligence appropriately.
- Work with other teams to record and disseminate intelligence records.
- Share ideas, complete early intelligence development, and act as a collaborative team member.
Requirements
- Proficiency in storing, sharing, handling, and using sensitive intelligence effectively and securely.
- Experience managing an incoming flow of intelligence and information from various sources with the ability to triage effectively.
- Demonstrable experience in completing early intelligence development work.
- Capability to manage competing tasks and issues, prioritizing appropriately and escalating where necessary.
- Knowledge of the financial services sector and/or UK Economic Crime landscape, the National Intelligence Model, and gateways and information sharing processes.
- Undertake continuous professional development, working towards Intelligence Professionalism Pathway (IPP) certification.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (FSMA, RIPA, CPIA, PIDA etc.).
- Advocate for the FCA, EMO, and the FCA mission, operating for the benefit of consumers.
- Work collaboratively and engage effectively with stakeholders, valuing different perspectives.
- Be open to learning, challenge, and change, and flexible to new tasks and responsibilities.
- Ability to exercise and defend own judgments.
- SC Clearance is required (hold or obtain Security Check (SC) level vetting).
- Willingness to obtain Developed Vetting (DV) level clearance once in role.

Salary/Compensations
- £47,300 to £53,000
