About the Role
Hiscox USA is seeking a dynamic, engaging, and solutions-oriented Sr. Underwriter to drive new business and underwrite complex renewal business within the Media E&O sector. This role offers an entrepreneurial climate that values thoughtful risk-taking, excellence in execution, and ownership.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite, price, and negotiate accounts consistent with risk quality and company strategy.
- Lead the nationwide media E&O team in underwriting production.
- Develop new broker relationships and deepen existing ones to increase production.
- Engage with the national media E&O team for collaborative learning.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards.
- Serve as a relationship manager for key media E&O brokers and spearhead broker turnarounds/remediation.
- Obtain and maintain senior-level underwriting authority in the media E&O practice area.
- Mentor and train junior media E&O teammates locally and nationally.
- Spearhead in-office quoting days with top broker partners.
- Monitor product results and develop ideas to increase productivity and profitability.
- Consistently exceed minimum quote output numbers.
- Travel regionally for industry events and broker visits as required.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Media E&O coverage preferred.
- Customer-centric mindset with a passion for superior customer service.
- Strong understanding of sales principles, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrate a competitive drive.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate and share information.
- Proven track record of understanding and delivering meaningful underwriting profit.
- Outgoing, driven, with high attention to detail and a results-focused mentality.
- Ability to identify business needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
