About the Role
This role serves as the Finance Business Partner for the Royal Canin North America Supply Chain organization, providing financial leadership and co-piloting across transportation, warehousing, distribution, and logistics operations. The position is responsible for driving strategic planning, forecasting, and Value Leadership initiatives while partnering with Logistics and Supply Chain leadership to deliver sustainable growth and financial performance. The role provides forward-looking financial insights and drives informed decision-making across the North America logistics network.
Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership teams to establish financial targets aligned with divisional and corporate objectives.
- Lead the development of the long-range strategic plan, Annual Execution Plan (AEP), and periodic forecasting processes.
- Provide an in-depth understanding of logistics cost drivers and their impact on business performance.
- Lead business reviews with leadership to drive gap closure plans and hold stakeholders accountable.
- Lead the Integrated Value Creation Plan (IVCP) process, identifying, validating, tracking, and delivering productivity initiatives and cost savings.
- Drive Value Leadership initiatives and achievement of productivity objectives.
- Challenge stakeholders, assumptions, and business cases through fact-based financial analysis.
- Lead the forecasting process leveraging the S&OP+ framework and drive alignment through SMR and IRR reviews.
- Ensure a single source of truth across multiple stakeholders in a complex operating environment.
- Serve as the primary Finance Business Partner to the North America Logistics Leadership Team.
- Provide consultative financial leadership to Logistics leaders and ensure financial risks and opportunities are appropriately identified, quantified, communicated, and actioned.
- Lead financial forecasting and year-end estimate processes, including analysis versus AEP, prior year performance, and strategic targets.
- Leverage storytelling and communication skills to clearly connect logistics performance drivers with financial outcomes.
- Deliver actionable insights that go beyond reporting and support proactive decision-making.
- Develop business cases and financial analyses supporting logistics transformation, automation, network optimization, and strategic investments.
- Conduct internal and external benchmarking to identify productivity opportunities.
- Partner with Procurement, Planning, Manufacturing, Customer Development, and Logistics teams to evaluate trade-offs and optimize cost-to-serve.
- Identify and drive opportunities to improve logistics productivity, service levels, and operational efficiency.
- Lead financial evaluation, validation, and tracking of savings initiatives and transformation programs.
- Establish KPI frameworks, financial scorecards, and milestone tracking mechanisms.
- Support the development of future-state logistics capabilities through strategic roadmap planning and investment analysis.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and financial discipline.
- Maintain strong governance and internal controls across areas of responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
- Support internal and external audit activities as required.
- Drive a culture of financial stewardship, transparency, and accountability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Finance, FP&A, Supply Chain Finance, Operations Finance, or Logistics Finance experience.
- Experience supporting transportation, warehousing, distribution, or logistics operations preferred.
- Strong business partnering experience with demonstrated ability to influence decisions without direct authority.
- Experience with financial planning, forecasting, productivity programs, and performance management.
- Experience with SAP, Power BI, Anaplan, or similar planning and analytics tools preferred.
- Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and communication skills.
