About the Role
The Specialist Software Engineer designs and develops web and cloud technologies to support an agile digital business. This role provides technology leadership, defines web and cloud strategies, and guides architectural decisions to develop enterprise-wide solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead analysis and complex architectural design across platforms to develop end-to-end solutions.
- Translate architectural guidance into detailed technical design.
- Lead committees or projects to define organization-wide standards, processes, and guidelines.
- Collaborate with development staff, including contract and offshore engineers, and business product owners in an agile environment.
- Code, test, implement, and document solutions using web and cloud technologies.
- Perform design and analysis for deliverables and lead large team design sessions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for various applications and technologies.
- Recommend solutions considering costs, business needs, and system impacts.
- Utilize third-party frameworks, open-source libraries, and APIs to develop application solutions.
- Lead web development staff and provide supervision as needed.
- Stay current with industry advances and rapidly grasp new technologies.
- Prepare presentations and lead development meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, math, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Six years of Core Java or .NET experience.
- Five years of experience in database design techniques (RDBMS, Document, Star Schema, Kimball Model).
- In-depth knowledge of NoSQL database technologies (MS Cosmos DB, Apache Cassandra, Amazon DynamoDB).
- Three years of development experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure) and support tools.
- Five years of experience with integration and service frameworks (API Gateways, Apache Camel, Kafka, microservices).
- Expertise in Microservices and REST-based API development.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Docker, Containers, OpenShift, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (Angular, React, Vue.js, ASP.NET MVC, HTML, JS, CSS).
- Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship.
