About the Role

The Senior Associate will own the daily operating layer of Momentum at the Venture Growth team, acting as the operational quarterback. This role involves coordination, data management, and communications to support a portfolio of Canadian science and technology scale-ups. It requires critical portfolio analysis, data integrity, and operational execution to ensure program success.

Responsibilities

  • Own venture engagement and relationship management, maintaining accurate venture contact information and engagement status.
  • Write effective venture communications, from outreach to re-engagement messages.
  • Support venture prospecting by analyzing data to identify promising companies.
  • Enable and coordinate advisors by monitoring venture-advisor matches and facilitating better fits.
  • Provide comprehensive support to advisors, including complex scheduling, note-taking, and communication.
  • Serve as the coordination lead for peer-to-peer events, managing planning, logistics, and feedback.
  • Own the collection, storage, and presentation of key program data, including NPS and services delivered.
  • Act as the Salesforce expert and ensure data integrity by critically reviewing records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Flag ventures that drift outside program eligibility or whose status no longer reflects reality.
  • Take ownership of the operational backbone of Momentum, ensuring smooth operations for the team, ventures, and advisors.
  • Manage scheduling across the team, ventures, and stakeholders.
  • Handle logistics and administrative execution for assigned projects, including hospitality approvals and room bookings.
  • Understand and navigate MaRS procurement rules efficiently.
  • Process invoices accurately and promptly.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information for budget planning.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with external vendors to ensure timely delivery of program elements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong proficiency with G-Suite and a corporate CRM; Salesforce preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills across oral, written, and presentation mediums.
  • Strong organizational, process, and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Superior interpersonal skills for navigating stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must reside in Ontario.
  • Willing to work out of the Toronto office (101 College Street) a minimum of 3 days per week.
