About the Role
The Media and Association Partnerships Manager will drive event growth and brand awareness for Gastech, an international energy event, by managing existing and identifying new media and association partnerships globally. This role is critical for the success of our events, requiring the development of strong relationships with key industry publications and association groups.
Responsibilities
- Advise, plan, and negotiate marketing opportunities with media partners and associations through barter agreements or reduced costs to enhance event awareness.
- Engage international and national media outlets for partnerships, in addition to trade media.
- Research, target, and segment international and trade media and associations to create valuable partnerships for the target audience.
- Engage with partners to create and develop new partnership marketing initiatives and offer a clearer value proposition.
- Coordinate with design and event marketing teams to create on-brand branding and advertising materials, ensuring timely delivery to partners.
- Work with the marketing executive to ensure partners receive relevant exposure outlined on contracts.
- Identify and develop opportunities, track partners, and monitor potential events that align with their audience.
- Collaborate with content, sales, and event marketing teams to create and copywrite targeted partnership materials with appropriate messaging and tone.
- Plan and manage the delivery of multi-channel partnership marketing campaigns across social, print, web, digital, and email.
- Track and analyze partnership marketing activities to ensure effectiveness.
- Work with external PR companies to maximize contacts and opportunities and maintain an extensive editorial calendar.
- Ensure all contra deals are recorded on Salesforce and mapped in event budgets according to company procedure.
- Manage partner relations, including negotiating contracts, resolving conflicts, and initiating termination procedures when necessary.
- Report monthly on outcomes for each media partner, with a weekly updated report, and produce an annual report for each event showing the value of the media partnerships function.
- Develop a methodology to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of media partners to produce a yearly partnership strategy.
- Manage sponsorship fulfillment by ensuring all contracted marketing and branding deliverables are accurately and promptly delivered, working closely with sales, marketing, and design teams.
- Develop and deliver an exhibitor success program with the Head of Marketing - Exhibitions, ensuring exhibitors have access to marketing toolkits, guidance, and promotional opportunities, and track the effectiveness of these activities.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years in partnership marketing with events or media experience.
- Excellent telephone manner for engaging with partners and clients, including cold calling.
- Ability to build mutually beneficial relationships, focusing on partner needs and seeking win/win agreements.
- Contract negotiation skills.
- Ability to plan and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Proactively develop new opportunities when approaching traditional partners, such as digital marketing.
- Be a serial networker and social media savvy.
- Experience using Salesforce or similar database systems is advantageous.
- Experience using tracking or analytical tools such as Google Analytics is advantageous.
- Experience using Monday.com is advantageous.
- Ability to work closely with sales and marketing stakeholders to ensure team targets are met.
- An understanding of the events industry is desirable but not compulsory.
