About the Role

We are seeking highly talented and driven software engineers to expand our Engineering team in London. Successful candidates will join a cross-functional team, working closely with product managers and designers to deliver working code that solves real problems. You will own the services managed by your team, ensuring development aligns with the AlphaSights Engineering strategy, and mentor junior engineers. This role is ideal for those passionate about solving problems with code and working with exceptional colleagues in a high-achievement environment.

Responsibilities

• Design solutions: Define the best technical solutions to business problems, contributing to an architectural vision that will scale up to be the world's leading research platform.
• Ship working code: Primarily work with React on the frontend and Kotlin microservices with Postgres on the backend, with some older services written in Ruby on Rails.
• Deploy and iterate: Release frequently to customers using CircleCI and Spinnaker for CI/CD, and quickly gather feedback to inform the next iteration.
• Build your competency: Learn quickly by building market-leading technology with experienced colleagues in a high-performance environment.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting: Monitor services, catch errors before users notice them, diagnose root causes, and deploy fixes.

Requirements

• Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience working at a similar level in a mature Engineering team.
• Technical expertise with at least one programming language (Kotlin and Ruby mentioned).
• Experience with relational databases is ideal.
• Proven track record of making a demonstrable impact in previous roles.
• Highly driven and proactive, relentlessly and independently pushing through hurdles.
• Meticulous with high standards and obsessive attention to detail.
• Unable to sponsor visas for this position.
