About the Role

The Pre-Sales Manager will lead a team of Pre-Sales Consultants, driving new business growth within the UK Financial Services sector. This role involves partnering with Account Executives, leading product demonstrations, and translating client challenges into compelling use cases. The manager will also collaborate with internal teams to influence product development and maintain a consultative, user-first approach.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Executives to run seamless product evaluations and drive new business.
  • Lead product demos, discovery calls, and tailored workshops to uncover and position value.
  • Translate client challenges into compelling use cases that showcase the power of AlphaSense.
  • Collaborate with Support, Sales, Product, and Content teams to close feedback loops and influence roadmap priorities.
  • Maintain a consultative, user-first mindset throughout every evaluation, building trust and credibility.
  • Directly lead a team of Pre-sales Consultants supporting AEs in closing trials with white glove and value-add client service.
  • Aggregate feedback and pivot pilot programs for optimal renewal rates, revenue growth, and to identify key support for the revenue organization.
  • Take initiative to continuously improve the organization and update internal processes.
  • Coach and mentor team members on development, call coaching, implementing best practices, and establishing accountability.
  • Drive onboarding, certification, and ongoing enablement programs in partnership with Sales Enablement.
  • Adapt managerial style to effectively support and challenge each direct report.
  • Provide transparency and insight into team performance to management, tracking and reporting day-to-day metrics.
  • Evaluate and implement resource coverage models to support growth.
  • Recruit top talent for the growing team while maintaining a high bar of excellence.
  • Build impactful relationships with cross-functional leaders to ensure alignment and drive successful growth outcomes.
  • Diligently learn about the product and feed ideas to bridge the gap between feature roll-outs, the future roadmap, and user requests.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of successfully managing a team of at least 5 client-facing people.
  • Significant experience working directly with users and clients to solve complex problems.
  • 5+ years of work experience in sales or client success.
  • Minimum of 2 years direct people management experience (managing a team of at least 5 client-facing people).
  • Ability to distill and explain complex issues in simple terms.
  • Experience operationalizing the customer journey and creating effective and scalable processes.
  • Superior ability to develop rapport with people, and to maintain relationships.
  • Effective attention to detail, time management, and task prioritization, even when under pressure.
  • Ability and interest to work autonomously and for a small fast-growing company.
  • Highly motivated proactive individuals who make things happen and want to play a large role in the company’s success.
