About the Role
The Staff Accountant is responsible for day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, and ad hoc projects. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from various departments
- Prepare various month-end journal entries and maintain required accounting schedules, such as prepaids and depreciation
- Prepares bank deposits and cash flow statements
- Prepares payments by accruing expenses, assigning account numbers, requesting disbursements, and reconciling accounts
- Support of A/R function, including processing inbound POs, generating invoices, and posting deposits
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- Performs ad hoc analysis for Finance and Accounting, and other inter-departmental teams as needed
- Protects organization's value by keeping confidential information
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by Management
Requirements
- Must have two (2) years bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Demonstrates independence and accountability by taking ownership of assigned tasks, meeting deadlines, and ensuring accuracy of financial work
- High integrity and strong work ethic, maintaining confidentiality, sound ethical judgment, and honesty in all financial responsibilities
- Self-driven with strong internal motivation and pride in producing high-quality work
- Growth-oriented mindset with openness to constructive feedback and a desire to continuously develop professionally
- Must have desire to learn about the various companies that are supported and grow in an accounting career
- Must be able to work independently, prioritizing and meeting deadlines
- Must be able to work in a team environment to complete department assigned projects
- Must be able to multi-task and work on many different projects at one time
- Must be detail oriented and organized, with excellent problem-solving skills
