About the Role

We are looking for a visionary Operations Support Director to drive our global operational and quoting strategies. This role involves working with cross-functional managers, collaborating with executive leadership, and shaping the long-term strategic direction of multi-national operations, from architecting Manufacturing Execution Systems to defining quote strategies for new business opportunities. Your decisions will directly influence our global market success.

Responsibilities

  • Defines operational quote strategy to support operational needs and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Organizes and chairs quote performance reviews with the executive team.
  • Logs and tracks corrective actions.
  • Works with Operating units to find optimum solutions for asset and resource requirements.
  • Defines strategies for Operational solutions (e.g., equipment AVL, resources demographics).
  • Develops Operational solutions to support and satisfy Business Development strategies.
  • Anticipates requirements for new market initiatives and provides leadership to prepare Operating Units for success.
  • Studies, recommends, and implements necessary Manufacturing Execution Systems (e.g., SFC, SFR) to provide Operating Units with necessary tools.
  • Conducts special studies and analysis to support senior management decisions and strategies, and drives operational change.
  • Supports/directs site quotecell quoting activities within the segment.
  • Evaluates cost models and develops manufacturing strategies for new customer opportunities.
  • Benchmarks new opportunity cost models with existing products to understand competitiveness.
  • Recommends cost model guidelines (TPS/PCM) for new customer opportunities.
  • Evaluates win/loss information to determine improvements within the quotecell.
  • Participates/directs in quote strategy meetings on new business opportunities.
  • Recommends site locations for new business opportunities.
  • Drives continuous improvement utilizing Closed Loop analysis and supports operational elements related to repricing activities.
  • Acts as a liaison between Corporate and sites/regions for communicating operational initiatives, accomplishments, and challenges.
  • Develops and maintains global databases for information sharing.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Production and its impact on customer satisfaction, product quality, on-time delivery, and profitability.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing, the production process, and associated tools and equipment.
  • Ability to establish manufacturing goals and coordinate resources to meet quality and quantity metrics.
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize, and problem-solve tasks for timely and accurate completion.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train, and motivate diverse employees to achieve high performance within tight deadlines in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Strong PCBA/BoxBuild operations process background.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Previous Program Management / Manufacturing Eng experience.

Skills

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and the senior management team.
  • Extensive experience in World Class Manufacturing/Lean implementation.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally and with other sites to achieve objectives.
  • Excellent business, analytical, negotiation, and problem resolution skills.
