About the Role

This Working Student position in the GL Accounting team offers genuine ownership over defined General Ledger areas, contributing directly to financial operations, month-end and annual closings, HGB validations, audit preparation, and an upcoming Workday ERP implementation. The role provides a comprehensive view of corporate accounting, including fixed assets, accruals, intercompany reconciliations, and consolidation inputs, enabling process improvements and supporting the transition to a new ERP.

Responsibilities

  • Own defined GL areas including related month-end closing tasks
  • Perform account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, balance sheet reviews, and data-quality checks
  • Prepare audit-ready documentation for annual closing, external audits, and internal reviews
  • Manage concrete GL areas: fixed assets, accruals and deferrals (ARAP/PRAP), intercompany, account analysis, consolidation inputs
  • Conduct HGB validation of accounting and reporting data, and clarify inconsistencies
  • Support ERP implementation and process improvements through testing, data validation, and new GL routines

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master's program in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Economics, or a related field
  • Must be enrolled in a university program for at least one more year
  • Intend to stay with the company for 12 months or more
  • Possess strong interest in accounting and ambition toward a Junior GL Accountant level
  • Solid spreadsheet skills (Excel, Google Sheets)
  • Interest in accounting systems, ERP, and reporting files
  • Clear and structured communication skills
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Experience in accounting, finance, controlling, audit, or administration is a plus
