About the Role
The Radiotherapy Treatment Superintendent will provide operational and clinical leadership to the treatment unit, ensuring the safe, effective, and patient-centered delivery of radiotherapy services. This role involves overseeing daily service delivery, supporting workforce development, and acting as the senior point of contact for complex clinical and operational matters. The position drives service improvement, maintains governance and quality standards, and supports the implementation of new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational and clinical leadership to the treatment unit.
- Ensure the safe, effective, and patient-centered delivery of radiotherapy services.
- Oversee day-to-day service delivery.
- Support workforce development.
- Act as the senior point of contact for complex clinical and operational matters.
- Drive service improvement initiatives.
- Maintain robust governance and quality standards.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and ways of working.
- Perform hands-on expertise in treatment radiotherapy.
- Ensure compliance with HCPC, IR(ME)R and organisational standards.
Requirements
- BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy
- HCPC registration
- 5+ years’ post-qualification experience
- Expertise in advanced techniques (DIBH, SABR, AlignRT)
- Leadership and service development experience
- Knowledge of ARIA/Mosaiq, QPulse, Datix
