About the Role
We are building the future of payments and this role is central to that mission. The Payments Digital Services team is developing next-generation experiences in digital identity, wallet-based services, embedded finance, and new propositions that redefine customer interaction with money, data, and value. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in bringing this vision to life by working on a modern, connected platform that integrates with best-in-class tools and services to help customers make smarter financial decisions and access innovative products.
Responsibilities
- Deliver clean, architecturally sound, maintainable server-side code.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build and develop a world-class product.
- Motivate the team to overcome roadblocks and ensure effective feature shipping.
- Guide design discussions, balancing flexibility, expediency, scalability, and performance.
- Partner with product and engineering leaders to refine development processes.
- Champion new technologies and promote best development practices.
- Proactively address technical debt while considering future needs.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of Golang.
- Experience building microservices, ideally deployed in containers on Kubernetes.
- Solid grounding in agile development practices.
- Experience with both RDBMS and NoSQL datastores.
- Ability to diagnose problems across the entire stack (client, HTTP/network, server, database, OS) with sound rationale.
- Proven experience building large, concurrent, distributed applications.
- Experience developing and running large-scale production environments in partnership with DevOps or SRE teams.
- A genuine interest in working in a fast-paced startup environment, ideally in fintech or payments.
- A strong desire for continuous learning and improvement.
