About the Role
As a member of the Product Transformation and Strategy team, this role supports the development and continuous improvement of services and features for Manulife John Hancock Retirement, focusing on research, ideation, communication, and launches.
Responsibilities
- Understand and support the vision for the project portfolio across all client segments.
- Act in a thought leadership capacity to stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory guidelines, and shaping forces.
- Manage the new idea intake process for internal stakeholders, serving as a primary point of contact.
- Support idea exploration by applying market research and customer feedback.
- Contribute to the creation of north star experiences and identification of key differentiators aligned with product strategy.
- Support the development of business cases and other product artifacts for approval, including drafting epic hypothesis statements.
- Collaborate with the Product Analysis team and SMEs to understand system impacts, high-level requirements, and development costs.
- Support the ongoing management of the portfolio roadmap and annual planning activities.
- Prepare reporting and regular updates for leadership.
- Support the internal and external rollout of features/capabilities and execution of communication strategy.
- Support the creation and maintenance of Product definition documents, ensuring alignment with product deployments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in the retirement industry
- Creative and innovative thinker with a results-oriented approach
- Knowledge of the retirement industry, competitive dynamics and trends
- Knowledge of channel-specific dynamics (broker/dealer, TPA, plan sponsor, participant)
- Knowledge of the ERISA and FINRA regulatory environment and DOL guidelines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
