About the Role

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in the safest and most effective way possible to avoid downtime. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment in challenging locations and develop new skills for a career track in service or operation management.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Perform diagnostics on equipment.
• Make repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime.
• Work on a variety of makes, models & equipment in challenging remote locations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• 21 years of age & CDL license may be required in some locations.
• May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade.
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs.
• The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.

Skills

• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
