About the Role
Triple Cities Metal Finishing is seeking a Water Treatment Operator responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the water treatment plant, including monitoring processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining equipment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation of the water treatment plant, including monitoring gauges, flowmeters, charts, and system control computers.
- Perform water analysis tests such as hardness, alkalinity, pH, turbidity, and chlorine residual to ensure water quality.
- Determine and adjust chemical feed rates to maintain proper treatment levels.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on plant equipment, including pumps, piping, and filtration systems.
- Quickly and effectively respond to alarms and issues with systems and equipment.
- Accurately record data regarding treatment plant operations and distribution system pressures, tank levels, and flow rates.
- Ensure that plant operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and plumbing.
- Water treatment background is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience with PVC, CPVC, and black steel pipe is preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred but not required.
